For an Inland Northwest HORIZONS workshop on “Food Security and Community Food Systems”. In this day-long workshop for Horizons R2/R3 leadership teams, facilitators, trainers, partners, food banks, community gardens/farmers market boards and volunteers, social service agencies, town officials, etc. you will explore the role and importance of food system’s in terms of community prosperity – from basic health and nutrition to canning to production to distribution to creating value-added byproducts. Don’t miss it!
When: Saturday, March 14th * 8:00am to 5:00pm
Where: Deer Park Elementary School, Deer Park
Cost: FREE to all Washington State and Idaho HORIZONS Community Teams

Our purpose is to develop innovative and sustainable economic, educational, social opportunities compatible with a rural lifestyle in the Tum Tum/Lake Spokane community and the surrounding area, uniting people of diverse backgrounds to reduce poverty, to enhance and develop cultural and natural resources, to develop alliances with surrounding communities, and to promote the common goals of the community, related organizations and celebrations in the community.
